1) When is Villa Tugendhat open?

Tuesdays – Sundays, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. including public holidays. Guided tours begin at 10:00; 11:00; 12:00; 13:00; 14:00; 15:00; 16:00 and 17:00. Entrance to the garden is possible until 17:30.

Villa Tugendhat will be exceptionally closed on following dates:

September 6 2019 from 12 AM to 4.30 PM due to wedding ceremony.

September 12 2019 due to private rental.

September 14 2019 due to private rental.

September 21 2019 from 12 AM to 4 PM due to wedding ceremony.

October 5 2019 from 3 PM due to the concert of Moravian Autumn festival.

October 15 2019 from 3 PM due to preparations of the public event in the evening.

November 5 2019 due to preparations of the public event in the evening.

November 6–7 due to Czech TV filming.

2) How much do tickets cost and what kind of tours are available?

Villa Tugendhat offers 2 types of tours (prior reservation is necessary) and a separate entry in the garden (where a prior reservation is not needed). Please note: interior tours are not very suitable for young children.

I. BASIC tour
(residential areas of the Villa, garden)

A ticket for the garden can be purchased for CZK 50 on opening days, by daylight and in suitable weather conditions. The garden tour is without a guide. Entrance to the garden is possible till 17:30.

3) Do I qualify for a concession or free entry?

The following visitors are eligible for a concession:

  • pupils and students (up to 26 years of age; a valid student card with a photo must be shown)
  • Teachers and tutors (a valid ITIC is required)
  • Seniors over 60 years of age and holders of ZTP and ZTP/P cards
  • Family ticket: 2 adults and 1–2 children under 15 years
  • children from 2 to 6 years: single admission 20 CZK

FREE admission is granted to:

  • ICOM, AssociaIon of Museums and Galleries of the Czech Republic and Art History Society card holders, ZTP escort

The Villa Tugendhat cash desk accepts payment only in the Czech currency or by credit card (VISA, MASTERCard).

Photography in the interior of the villa (without flash and tripod) is only possible after buying a photo ticket for CZK 300 directly at the cash desk.

4) What is the maximum number of visitors in a group?

A maximum of 16 people can visit the villa in one tour group for capacity and security reasons.

6) How can I buy a ticket?

Ticket can be purchased through the reservaIon system HERE, where you can also watch the status of vacancies in individual tour dates online.

Guided tours for a group of more than 16 people can also be ordered by e-mail at

7) Is it possible to order a tour in a foreign language?

Tours are normally offered in Czech or English. During the tour, a brief printed guide is available in English, German, Italian, Spanish, French, Russian and Japanese.

8) Can my luggage be stored during the tour?

Yes, lockers are available for visitors.

9) Can the reservation times be changed?

It is NOT POSSIBLE to change the date for tickets that have already been purchased. 

We will cancel the purchased ticket upon your request, you can also pass your ticket to somebody else – the name on the ticket is not relevant.

Cancellation is possible no later than 5 days before the tour date. Tickets purchased more than 6 calendar months before the tour date cannot be cancelled.

10) How to CANCEL a ticket?

From our part (Brno City Museum):

  • we cancel a purchased reservation/e-ticket
  • we ask gopay to return the amount to your account, where the cancellation fee is CZK 15 (which is deducted from the total amount paid)

From your part:

  • the amount reduced by the cancellation fee of CZK 15 will be returned to your account within five working days
  • if you are interested in another date, it is necessary to purchase the e-ticket/reservation for the requested date again
  • if you wish to cancel or change the day in advance, by telephone only at +420 515 511 015

No other option is possible for organizaIonal reasons at the moment.

11) Can tickets be purchased as a gift?

Gift vouchers for 2019 are sold out now. Gift vouchers for 2020 will be released for sale when the reservations for 2020 are launched, you will be able to purchase them from 1st October 2019. Thank you for your understanding.

12) Can I purchase tickets to public events at Villa Tugendhat online via the website?

If you have chosen an event that you would like to attend, you have two options for purchasing tickets:


There is usually a link under each event directly to the ONLINE TICKET SALE section; as soon as you are redirected to this section, find the date and time for which the event is scheduled in the calendar, then the system will guide you further. You can pay the tickets conveniently by credit card and print them out just like the tickets for a tour.


If you do not have a credit card, you can contact the reservation department of Villa Tugendhat for other booking options, i.e. by e-mail:, or by phone: +420 515 511 015/017. The reservation department is open during the Villa Tugendhat opening hours (i.e. TUE-SUN from 10.00 to 5.30; in January and February WED-SUN from 9.00 to 5.30). However, for telephone and e-mail reservations, please note that the ticket must be purchased no later than 7 days before the event. 13) Is parking possible near Villa Tugendhat?

There is no reserved parking for visitors in the vicinity of the villa; you can park in the streets around Villa Tugendhat without paying a fee but depending on the current traffic situation. If you plan to arrive by car, please be aware, that parking spaces are not always easy to find, especially on weekdays.

The closest public parking is in the underground garage at Moravské náměstí. From there, you can easily take tram no. 3, 5 or 9 to the Children's Hospital (2 stops) and walk up Černopolní street for approx. 10 minutes to Villa Tugendhat).

14) How do I reach Villa Tugendhat by public transport?

  • from the main train station: tram no. 9 to Tomanova stop, then walk along Tomanova street (ca. 20 min.)

  • from the Zvonařka bus station: bus No. 67 to Schodová stop, then walk up Schodová street and then Černopolní (ca. 20 min.)

  • from Česká Street: tram no. 3, 5 to Children's Hospital stop, then walk up Černopolní Street (ca. 15 min.)

15) Is it possible to hire Villa Tugendhat?

Hiring space in Villa Tugendhat is subject to strict organizaIonal limits and only with the permission of the Director of the Brno City Museum or the Director of Villa Tugendhat, a separate department of the Brno City Museum.

The property can only be hired outside opening hours or when no tickets for tours have been purchased.

The price for hiring the building is established in a valid price list depending on the scope and purpose of the event (the whole building, the technical floor; meetings, sessions, company lectures and presentations, wedding ceremonies). The price list can be downloaded here.

Free movement of visitors without a guide in the interiors of Villa Tugendhat is not permitted.

Guided tours of the building during the event can be arranged only in shortened form, for groups of maximum 20 persons and for a fee of CZK 100 per person.

Basic safety and capacity limitations:

  • Commercial events, such as meetings, sessions, company lectures, presentations, etc. (hereinaier referred to as events), are suitable for the 1st floor (technical floor - former garden furniture store, bookshop, toilets, or laundry and coke storage) and 2nd floor (the main living room).
    Maximum capacity on the first floor is 100 people (we recommend max. 80 people), on the second floor it is 50 people. Participants of an event are not permitted to use the installed seating furniture. There is a ban on stiletto heels in the interior and participants must wear protective covers on the 2nd and 3rd floor. Food and drinks are only permitted on the 1st floor or outside the building.

  • The main living room and garden can be hired for wedding ceremonies. The maximum number of participants in a wedding ceremony indoors is 50 people, for an outdoor wedding it is 100 people (we recommend max. 80 people). Wedding guests (with the exception of the newlyweds being photographed) are not permitted to use the installed seating furniture. During a wedding ceremony on the 2nd and 3rd floor, everyone except the bride and groom, the officiant and the witnesses must wear protective shoe covers.
