On Friday, 10 October 2014 a festive opening of a travelling exhibition on the Tugendhat Villa was held in Stuttgart together with a lecture by the Villa director Iveta Černá. The exhibition is installed in the exhibition hall of the Weissenhof Museum, which is in a building designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (Weissenhofwerkstatt im Haus Mies van der Rohe).
The exhibition in Stuttgart takes place as part of the Days of Czech Culture (Tschechische Kulturtage on 9 to 19 October 2014), organized by the twin cities of Stuttgart and Brno on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of cooperation between these two cities. The opening ceremony of the exhibition, which runs until 9 December, 2014, was also attended by Dagmar Černoušková of Study and Documentation Centre at the Villa Tugendhat and Robert Kudělka of the Foreign Relations Department of the Municipality of the City of Brno and Jaroslav Hamža from the Department of Culture of the Brno Municipality. The guests from Brno also time participated in other cultural events that were associated with the “Days of Czech Culture in Stuttgart”.
Reciprocally, an exhibition on the Weissenhofsiedlung in Stuttgart takes place in the Villa Tugendhat until January 2015. It was launched on 3 November 2014 by the director of the Weissenhof Museum Anja Krämer, who also lectured on the occasion about the Weissenhofsiedlung.
