On Sunday, 23 September 2018, several “Stones of the Disappeared” were placed in front of the house on Drobného Street no. 18, where the Tugendhat and Zinner family lived, in memory of the Holocaust victims. They commemorate Pavla Zinnerová, née Tugendhat, (Fritz Tugendhat’s aunt, his father Emil Tugendhat’s sister) and her son Emil Zinner. Both were deported to Terezín (Theresienstadt) internation camp on 29 March 1942. Pavla Zinnerová, born on 8 April 1874, died on 6 July 1942 in Terezín. The placement of the memorial stones was initiated by Pavla Zinnerová’s grandchildren, writer and screenwriter Markéta Zinnerová, Pavla Aviolat-Zinnerová and Alexej Zinner, who personally participated in this small ceremony together with Boris Barak Selinger from the Jewish Community of Brno.
