The process, which has been closely followed by domestic and international experts, culminated on 29 February 2012 with the re-opening of the villa in the presence of the daughters of the original owners, Daniela Hammer-Tugendhat and Ruth Guggenheim-Tugendhat. This ceremonial act marks the beginning of a period of immense media and public interest in the UNESCO World Heritage Site that continues to this day. This interest is reflected, among other things, in the fact that nearly 400,000 visitors have visited the family home in 10 years.
The expert symposium at Villa Löw-Beer will feature three main participants in this process: conservator and restorer Prof. Dr. Phil. Ivo Hammer, conservationist and architect Miloš Solař, Ph.D. and the manager of Villa Tugendhat Ing. arch. Iveta Černá.
