RE.STORATION.2010.2012

In 2022, Villa Tugendhat marks the 10th anniversary of the completion of the comprehensive restoration, which took place in 2010-2012 and undoubtedly represents one of the turning points in the history of this iconic building.

RE.STORATION.2010.2012

The process, which has been closely followed by domestic and international experts, culminated on 29 February 2012 with the re-opening of the villa in the presence of the daughters of the original owners, Daniela Hammer-Tugendhat and Ruth Guggenheim-Tugendhat. This ceremonial act marks the beginning of a period of immense media and public interest in the UNESCO World Heritage Site that continues to this day. This interest is reflected, among other things, in the fact that nearly 400,000 visitors have visited the family home in 10 years.

The expert symposium at Villa Löw-Beer will feature three main participants in this process: conservator and restorer Prof. Dr. Phil. Ivo Hammer, conservationist and architect Miloš Solař, Ph.D. and the manager of Villa Tugendhat Ing. arch. Iveta Černá.
