VILLA TUGENDHAT EXHIBITION IN PORTO

From 20 April to 31 May 2017, a travelling exhibition on Villa Tugendhat will be on display in the Gallery of the Faculty of Architecture, Porto University (Portugal).

The exhibition, divided into 14 comprehensive themes, presents the history and present of the Tugendhat Villa, from its design and construction in 1929–1930, to the monumental restoration that took place in the villa in 2010-2012. The exhibition also includes a 1:50 illuminated model of the villa and a screening of documentary films, Destiny Named Tugendhat and Villa Tugendhat: Renovation of a Monument  2010–2012 by Rudolf Chudoba.

The opening of the exhibition will take place on 20 April 2017, starting at 18.30, by a lecture by the director of Villa Tugendhat Ing. Arch. Iveta Černá.

The exhibition is held in a unique space of the Faculty of Architecture in Porto (Via Panorámica S/N), which was built in 1992 according to the design of the famous Portuguese architect Álvaro Siza Vieira. It will be open daily, admission is voluntary.
