THE TUGENDHAT VILLA AS A RESEARCH CENTRE

This consists of a summary of the latest developments concerning Villa Tugendhat presented at the international symposium MATERIALITY. The symposium took place at the Brno Exhibition Grounds from the 27th to the 29th of April 2006 and was focused on research and care for preservation of surface areas of buildings of classic Modernism. A block of independent papers was dedicated to Villa Tugendhat.

The text is based on an extensive study published in the journal Průzkumy památek and has been supplemented by a pictorial section consisting of, up until now, unpublished photographs and archive documents. The text includes an English version and an extensive summary in German.
