The Construction and Reconstruction of the Barcelona Chair / Lecture by Vladimír Ambroz

This lecture focuses on the structural design of the Barcelona Chair and on the process of creating accurate replicas of the original pieces, based on a detailed study of historical technical drawings and the use of identical production methods.

Ing. arch. Vladimír Ambroz, the author of these replicas and a participant in the heritage restoration of Villa Tugendhat between 2010 and 2012, will present the chair from the perspective of its construction and the production of replicas, comparing these processes with contemporary mass production.

The lecture accompanies the exhibition The Iconic Barcelona Chair: Idea, Story, Construction.

The lecture will take place in the exhibition space on the technical floor on the ground floor of the villa.
