TATA/BOJS FOR KOLEČKO FOUNDATION IN VILLA TUGENDHAT

On 20 June 2016, Tata / Bojs band are going to perform in the unique glass-room of the villa. Together with the Kolečko Foundation, Villa Tugendhat will thus help the Traumatology Centre of the Children’s Hospital.

TATA/BOJS AND VILLA TUGENDHAT FOR KOLEČKO

On Monday, 20 June 2016 at 8 p.m., a charity concert of TATA/BOJS will take place in the Villa Tugendhat. Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated in full to the Traumatology Centre of the Children’s Hospital in Brno and will be used to purchase outpatient surgical instrumentation and tables in total cost of 100.000 CZK.

The idea to try to use public interest in a tour of the villa for a charitable purpose gave rise to a unique collaboration of the Kolečko Foundation with the Museum of the City of Brno / Tugendhat Villa.

Last year, 60 years have passed since a rehabilitation centre for children with spine defects of the University Children’s Hospital in Brno was established in the Villa Tugendhat and it operated there for nearly 25 years. The Kolečko Foundation which helps children affected by the consequences of traffic accidents or other trauma celebrated its 10th birthday in the same year and this is an ideal situation for the joint support of one of eight children’s trauma centres in the Czech Republic, the Trauma Centre of Children’s Hospital. Kolečko Foundation returns to the Villa Tugendhat almost exactly two years after the fantastic concert of another famous Czech band, Chinaski.

20:00 Welcoming of guests and a toast in the garden

TATA/BOJS

The band Tata Group/Bojs is often referred to as the alternative, but in any case, “the bar” of Czech pop music always sees it as the best glass of wine. Its founding members, Milan Cais and Mardoša, are recognized celebrities also outside of the music realm and regularly help in charity projects. Tata/Bojs was founded in 1988, they won the Anděl music award for album of the year, song of the year or a video clip. Their album Futuretro of 2000 was declared by critics and musicians asked by MF Dnes as album of the decade 2000–2009. Last autumn, the ninth studio album of the band titled A/B was launched and again enthusiastically received by fans and critics.
