Shtetl Fest 2023 in Villa Tugendhat

For the second time, the Brno City Museum is taking part in the Štetl Fest, a multi-genre festival of Jewish culture organized by the Jewish Community of Brno, and this year, in addition to Villa Tugendhat, Špilberk Castle will be part of the programme.

15:00 Rabbi from Crimea; a discussion with Rabbi Mikhail Borisovich Kapustin, led by journalist Mirek Tóda.
17:00 Roots of female spirituality; a lecture and reading by writer Terezie
20:30 Man on the Edge of Freedom, concert by Jiří M. Procházka, compositions by important authors working across the period of Nazi and Communist terror, introduced by Jan Hanák.

3 September 2023

10:00 Freedom and Injustice; a lecture by Chief Rabbi Karol Sidon
11:30 The war in Ukraine through the eyes of European rabbis; a lecture by Rav Pinchas Goldschmidt, President of the Conference of European Rabbis.
