The collaboration between the Brno City Museum and the Arks Foundation (The Arks Foundation – Löw-Beer and Oskar Schindler families) began last year with the exhibition project Starting at Zero, which preceded the opening of the Museum of Survivors in the former Löw-Beer family factory in Brněnec. This building, which was stolen from the family by the Nazis in 1938, was the place where Oskar Schindler ran his concentration camp and saved 1200 Jews from the so-called Schindler’s List. Thanks to Daniel Low-Beer and his many activities, the factory, which was threatened with demolition, was saved and given new meaning.
