Open House 2026: Villa Garden at Dusk
A guided tour led by Assoc. Prof. Přemysl Krejčiřík, Ph.D., will introduce visitors to the history and present-day state of the Tugendhat Villa garden. The original design was the result of a collaboration between Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Brno landscape architect Margarethe Roder Müller (Markéta Müllerová). It was to this very concept that the garden returned during the restoration of Villa Tugendhat in 2010–2012, thanks to a design by Přemysl Krejčiřík and his studio. He thus realized the architects’ dreams of covering the facade with climbing plants and revived the terraces below the villa. The network of paths with gravel surfaces, low walls, staircases, terraces, and the viewing spot under the willow tree were also restored to their original forms. The placement of individual rooms with views focused on Brno’s landmarks is based on the landscape context of the Černá Pole villa gardens, which had no fences separating them at that time
Times: 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Tour capacity is limited to 50 people.
