This concert dedicated to Agnes Tyrrell brings music back home – to the city it came from. In Villa Tugendhat, we will listen to a story of talent, memory, and the place one carries within, even while on the move.
Agnes Tyrrell was a Brno-born composer and pianist (1846–1883) – an extraordinary talent who performed as a “child prodigy” in her early years and later devoted herself fully to composition alongside the piano. Today, we are rediscovering her name as a voice that continues to resonate beyond Brno: across languages, social worlds, and a period that was by no means welcoming to women in music.
