In October, the series of regular film screenings at the Villa Tugendhat will be dedicated to the legendary Cabaret, a musical from 1972. This film, which was awarded eight Oscars in 1973, tells the story of a love triangle between the main characters: Academic Brian Roberts (Michael York), singer Sally Bowles (Liza Minelli) and Baron Maximilian von Heun (Helmut Griem). The story takes place on the background of events in Berlin of the 1930‘s and beside the fates of the main characters the audience watched the gradual emergence of the Nazi party to power.

Wednesday’s screening will be preceded by a short excerpt from the repertoire of the National Theatre Ballet in Brno.
