1) When is Villa Tugendhat open?

Tuesday – Sunday 10 am – 6 pm including bank holidays.

Guided tours begin at 10 am, 11 am, 12 noon, 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm, 4 pm and 5 pm.

2) What is the maximum number of visitors in a group?

A maximum of 15 people are allowed in one tour group due to capacity and safety reasons.

3) How much do tickets cost and what kind of tours are available?

Villa Tugendhat offers visitors 2 types of tours of the interior along with a separate entrance to the garden.

 

I. BASIC tour (the residential areas of the Villa, the garden) 

the 2nd floor – the so-called bedroom floor (the upper terrace, the entrance hall, the parents' section, the children's  section)
the 1st floor – the main living space, the preparation room, the kitchen
the garden (depending on the weather)

II. EXTENDED tour (the residential areas of the Villa, the technical facilities, the garden)

the 2nd floor – the so-called bedroom floor (the upper terrace, the entrance hall, the parents' section, the children's section)
the 1st floor – the main living space, the preparation room, the kitchen
the ground floor – the so-called technical floor (the engine room for air technology, the boiler room, the engine room for electrical retracting of the windows, the laundry room, the dark room, the fur coat storage room)
the garden

length: approximately 90 minutes

price:

III. GARDEN (a tour of the garden is included in  tours 1 and 2)

A time-unlimited ticket for the garden can be purchased for CZK 50 on opening days, by daylight and in suitable weather conditions.
The garden tour is without a guide.

- Pupils and students (up to 26, with valid student ID with photograph)
- Teachers and tutors (with valid ITIC card)
- Senior citizens from 60 years and ZTP and ZTP/P cardholders
- Children from 2 to 6: entrance fee CZK 20
- Family ticket: 2 adults and 1 – 2 children under 15

Free of charge:
cardholders of ICOM, Association of Museums and Galleries of the Czech Republic and Art History Association, accompanying persons with ZTP

Only Czech currency or debit/credit cards (VISA, MasterCard) can be used at the Villa Tugendhat cash desk.

Photographs in the interiors of the Villa (without the use of a flash and a stand) are only allowed after purchase of “a photo-ticket” for CZK 300 directly at the cash desk.

Online ticket purchasing is possible through the RESERVATION SYSTEM, where you can also check the number of free places in the particular tours. 

You can also book the tickets by e-mail at info@tugendhat.eu or on opening days by telephone at +420 515 511 015 / 017.

Only Czech currency or debit/credit cards (VISA, MasterCard) can be used at the Villa Tugendhat cash desk.

High heel shoes are not allowed in the Villa (in order to protect the natural linoleum floor).

4) Can photographs be taken in the interiors?

Photographs in the interiors of the Villa (without the use of a flash and a stand) are only allowed after purchase of “a photo-ticket” for CZK 300 directly at the cash desk.
Prices for photography of the interiors of the Villa apart from opening hours are established on a commercial basis.

5) How do I buy a ticket?

Entrance tickets may be purchased through the reservation system HERE, where you can also check online the number of free places in the particular tours. You can also order tours of the Villa by e-mail at info@tugendhat.eu or by telephone at +420 515 511 015. The telephones and e-mail are available during the opening times of the Villa. 

Only Czech currency or debit/credit cards (VISA, MasterCard) can be used at the Villa Tugendhat cash desk. If you would like to purchase a tour as a gift and you do not know the exact date of the visit, the gift voucher is the best solution is (see question no. 14)

6) Tours in foreign language?

The standard provided tour is in Czech or English.
A brief printed guide book in English, German, Italian, Spanish, French , Russian and Japanese is available during the tour.
Tours in German, Italian, Spanish and French can be ordered for groups of at least 10 people by email: info@tugendhat.eu

7) Is there a luggage storage facility for during the tour?

There are lockers available for visitors.

8) How do I reserve a ticket?

Reservation is possible in two ways:

 

a) Through the reservation system on the website:

The reservation system only allows you to purchase tickets for specific dates and times. 

Choose a date in the calendar.

The offered tours and current number of free spaces will appear at the end of the page.

If certain tours are missing or if none are listed, Villa Tugendhat is closed to the public at that time.

If the required time is free, click at the end of the row on the item KOUPIT VSTUPENKY (PURCHASE TICKETS).

A page which allows you to choose the TYPE of ticket appears (full, discount, family) and the NUMBER of tickets. 

YOUR REGISTRATION IS NOT VALID AS YET!

The entrance ticket must be paid by means of the Go Pay payment portal or by invoice.
If purchasing the tickets directly at the cash desk in Villa Tugendhat, payment can only be made in Czech currency or with a debit/credit card (VISA, MasterCard)

 

b) By telephone or e-mail

You can also order tours of the Villa by e-mail at info@tugendhat.eu or by telephone at +420 515 511 015. The telephones and e-mail are available during the opening times of the Villa.

9) How do I reserve group tickets?

A maximum of 15 people are allowed in one tour group due to capacity and safety reasons. 

Free places in the offered guided tours can be checked online by means of our reservation system on our pages HERE.

 

You need to choose a tour where 10 places are available. In cases such as these we will be happy to take reservations by telephone orders without the need to immediately pay the entire amount (tel. +420 515 511 015). We will adjust the presentation to your individual requirements on the basis of your order. 

 

We are able to adjust the presentation on the basis of your requirements; in case of shortening intervals between the tours, permission of Villa Tugendhat management is necessary. Entrance tickets which have already been sold cannot be cancelled due to organisational reasons. It is therefore important to check the online reservation status.

 

Group rates are not available at Villa Tugendhat (except for above mentioned concessions and family tickets).

10) Can the reservation times be changed?

It is NOT POSSIBLE to change the reservation time of already purchased tickets. Tickets reserved by e-mail or telephone can be changed. 
We can cancel an entrance ticket at your request. Cancellation is possible 5 days before the tour at the latest.

 

CANCELLING TICKETS

On our part (Brno City Museum):

– we cancel a purchased reservation/e-ticket
– we request a return of the amount onto your account via Go Pay where the cancellation amounts to CZK 15
(which is subtracted from the overall paid amount)

 

On your part:

– the amount of CZK 15 deducted from the payment will be returned to your account within five working days

– if you are interested in another date, you have to purchase another e-ticket /reservation
– if you would like to cancel or change the time of an already existing reservation which has not been paid yet, you need to do so at least a day ahead of time and only by telephone at +420 515 511 015

Other possibilities are not available at this time due to organisational reasons.

11) Can you park at villa Tugendhat?

There is no visitor parking near the villa. From 11 April to 31 October 2016, Černopolní Street is completely closed due to renovation of steam pipelines. For this reason, parking is very limited near the villa. More information can be found HERE.

The nearest available parking is located in the underground garage at Moravské náměstí (you can take trams 3 or 5 from the Moravské náměstí tram stop to the Children's Hospital and then take a 10 min. walk to Villa Tugendhat).

12) How do I get to Villa Tugendhat by public transport?

From the main railway station: tram no. 9 to Tomanova stop and from there along Tomanova street (approximately 20 min.)

From the Zvonařka bus station: bus no. 67 to Schodová stop and from there up Schodová Street and along Černopolní (approximately 20 min.)

From Česká street: trams no. 3, 5 to Dětská nemocnice stop and from there along Černopolní street (approximately 15 min.)

13) Can Villa Tugendhat be rented?

Rent of Villa Tugendhat, a National Monument and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is possible under strict security and capacity limits, and exclusively with the permission of the Director of the Brno City Museum and the director of Villa Tugendhat as a separate department of the Brno City Museum.

 

The building can only be rented outside opening hours or at times when no tickets for guided tours have been purchased. Availability of the premises can be found out through the reservation system here.

 

The price for renting the property ranges from 5 000 to 30 000 CZK excl. VAT for 1 hour according to the scope and purpose of rent (the whole building, the technical floor; meetings,  company lectures and presentations, wedding ceremonies etc.).

Unsupervised presence of visitors in the interior of Villa Tugendhat is not permitted.

Any tours of the building with a guide during the rental time may only be held in abbreviated form for groups of maximum 15 persons and there is a charge of 100. - CZK per person.

Basic safety and capacity limitations:

  • Events of commercial nature, such as negotiations, meetings, company lectures and presentations, etc. (hereinafter referred to as events), may use short-term single-use rent of the 1st floor (“technical floor” – former garden furniture storage room, bookshop, toilets, with possibly the laundry room and/or the coke storage room) and the 2nd floor ("main living space"). Maximum capacity is 100 persons on the 1st floor and 50 persons on the 2nd floor.
  • Wedding ceremonies may take place in the main living space and in the garden. Maximum number of participants at an indoor ceremony is 50.
  • Participants in an event or a wedding ceremony (with the exception of the bride and groom during photography) are not allowed to use the installed seating. All participants with the exception of bride and groom, the registrar and witnesses of a wedding ceremony must wear protective shoe covers on the 2nd and 3rd floor. Stiletto heels are strictly not permitted in the interior.
  • Food and drinks during rental time are only permitted on the 1st floor or outdoors.

14) Can I purchase tickets as a gift?

Yes, we offer gift vouchers for these purposes; they can be purchased at the box office of the Villa Tugendhat during opening hours (Tue–Sun, from 10.00 to 17.30).

Within the Czech Republic, it is possible to send the voucher with cash on delivery or invoice payment. For gift vouchers sent to foreign countries, please contact Mgr. Petr Dvořák, petr.dvorak@tugendhat.eu.
